Overview

This gravity drop male coupler is the 4 inch x 4 inch male half of a tanker offloading connection. It is made from aluminium, so it stays light enough for a driver to connect by hand, and it mates with a female gravity drop coupler fitted at the receiving tank. Most sites buy it as a replacement when the original is dented from being dropped on concrete, or as a spare so a tanker is never stuck at the gate for want of one fitting. The 4 inch x 4 inch size matches the female coupler with a 4 inch BSP thread.

Where it works

Road tanker operators use it on diesel and petrol deliveries to depots in Gauteng and KZN, farm bulk tanks in Limpopo and the Free State, and mine fuel bays in Mpumalanga. It is common on rural runs where the receiving tank has no pump, so the tanker discharges by gravity alone. To complete the connection, add the 4 inch x 4 inch BSP female coupler.
