Overview

This dc-40 12v fuel pump is a compact rotary-vane transfer pump for diesel. It runs on a 12V DC supply at 155 W, moves 40 L/min and lifts fuel from 3 m below the pump to a delivery head of up to 10 m.

The cast-iron body and IP55, class B motor handle dusty farm and workshop conditions. At 4.6 kg it is light enough to mount on a bakkie tank, a drum stand or a small bowser. For trucks and plant on 24V, choose the DC-40 24V fuel transfer pump; for more flow, step up to the DC-60 12V fuel transfer pump. The wider fuel transfer pumps range covers hoses and accessories.

Where it works

Farmers in the Free State and Limpopo use the DC-40 to fuel tractors from a drum or small tank, and contractors in Gauteng and KZN mount it on a bakkie tank. Mine service teams in Mpumalanga use 12V pumps like this on lube trucks, and the battery supply keeps it working through load-shedding. A dc-40 12v fuel pump is simple to wire and quick to fit, which is why bakkie-mounted tanks use it. Run a fused feed from the battery with a switch, keep the hose runs short and use a strainer on the suction side to protect the vanes.
