Overview

A compression coupler joins two lengths of HD polyethylene (HDPE) pipe in a straight line. There is no heat, soldering or special equipment: the pipe slides in, the nut is tightened and the rubber O-ring seals.

It is made from polypropylene and rated PN16, which is 16 bar. The maker states it is made to ISO 14236 / SANS 14236. Water supply, irrigation and plumbing jobs all use it, and more HDPE fittings sit in our pipe fittings range.

Where it works

Use this coupler to join a new run of HDPE to an existing line, or to repair a damaged section. Farmers in Limpopo and the Free State use it on borehole delivery lines, municipal crews on reticulation, and contractors on tank connections and pump installations. Cut the pipe square, remove burrs, loosen the nut and push the pipe fully in before tightening. Do not overtighten. Add a compression elbow for a corner and a compression equal tee for a branch.
