Overview

This baffle tube fits inside a 1000 L horizontal transport tank and holds back the liquid when the vehicle brakes, accelerates or turns. It is a single moulded polyethylene unit rather than a bag of loose balls, and Kamano delivers it anywhere in South Africa.

When a tank is only part full, the liquid surges from end to end and pushes the vehicle around. A baffle tube breaks up that surge by obstructing the flow. It redirects the liquid, cuts turbulence and splashing, and keeps the flow more controlled and steady. By limiting the free surface of the liquid, it also helps keep the load stable on the road.

Where it works

Farmers in Limpopo and the Free State fit a baffle tube to a 1000 L bakkie tank before carting water or diesel to the lands. Contractors in Gauteng and Mpumalanga use it on small bowsers. What does a baffle tube do in a transport tank?

It breaks up liquid movement inside a part-filled tank. By obstructing the flow it redirects it, cuts turbulence and splashing, and reduces surge when you brake or turn. It does not secure the tank, which must still be fixed to the vehicle.

Will it fit a 2500 or 5000 L tank?

This one is made for 1000 L tanks. Other sizes are available for larger tanks, so ask us for the right one. For big tanks you may prefer a counted pack of baffle balls from our range.
