Overview

The SP60-13 (also listed as VP62A-13) is a 6-inch stainless steel multistage submersible borehole pump with a maximum head of 182 m and flows up to 78 m³/h. It is the 26 kW size in the SP60 range (nominal flow around 60 m³/h). At 42 m³/h (42,000 litres an hour) it still delivers 134 m of head. This 6 inch borehole pump is three-phase only.

Where it works

Citrus and sugar estates in Mpumalanga and Limpopo use pumps in this class for large irrigation blocks, and so do municipalities topping up reservoirs from deep boreholes. Add your pumping water level, the lift to your tank and about 10% for pipe friction, then pick a pump whose head at your flow beats that total. What size borehole does the SP60-13 need?

Your borehole needs an internal diameter of at least 150 mm, because the pump body is 6 inches. Check the casing size on your driller's report before ordering. If you are unsure, send us the borehole depth, water level and yield and we will confirm whether this model fits before you pay.

Does the SP60-13 set include cable, rope and pipe?

No. Submersible cable, rope, delivery pipe and the base plate are not included in any option. The 380 V sets include a 30A controller; the 525 V set has no starter. The pump end comes on its own. Your installer must supply the cable and delivery pipe, and fit a starter where none is included.

Do you deliver the SP60-13 to Mbombela?

Yes. Kamano delivers from Polokwane to Mbombela and the rest of the country in 1 to 3 days. A complete set ships at about 205 kg, which is over 100 kg, so delivery is quoted for your address. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free.

Is 182 m of head enough for my borehole?

Add the depth to your pumping water level, the height to your tank and about 10% for pipe friction. At 42 m³/h this pump gives 134 m, so keep your total head below that for full flow. The 182 m figure is the closed-valve maximum, not a working figure.
