55 W In-Line UV Water Sterilizer, Stainless Steel, 2,720 L/h

Description

Overview

The 55 W UV water sterilizer is a complete in-line unit that adds a final disinfection stage to your filtration system. Rated for up to 2,720 litres per hour, it treats water as it flows through a stainless steel chamber, with no chemicals added.

Water passes the quartz sleeve that holds the UV lamp, and the light disrupts the ability of susceptible microorganisms to reproduce. The unit comes complete with housing, quartz sleeve, 55 W lamp, ballast, O-rings and mounting brackets. UV works only on disinfection, so it must sit after sediment and carbon filtration. Clear water and a clean sleeve are what make it effective.

Key features

• 55 W UV-C system with stainless steel chamber
• Rated flow up to 2,720 L/h
• Lamp, quartz sleeve, ballast, O-rings and brackets included
• No chemicals and no wastewater in normal operation
• Suits a final stage after sediment and carbon filters

Where it works

Install it after your filters on borehole, municipal or rainwater supply to a house, lodge, clinic or small farm shop. A typical sequence is source, sediment filter, carbon filter, UV sterilizer, then the taps. Flow rate, water clarity and sleeve cleanliness all affect performance, so do not run the unit above its rating. UV does not remove sand, rust, salts, metals or chlorine.
