Overview

This 5000 L rainwater harvesting kit gives a farm, lodge or larger property serious roof-water storage, with a gutter buddy and first flush kit to keep the worst of the runoff out of the tank. It collects water from a large roof catchment for irrigation, livestock, cleaning and household use. The kit does not include installation. At this size the tank is bulky, so plan the stand and delivery access before you order.

Where it works

A 5000 L tank suits farm sheds, packing houses, lodges, schools, clinics and larger homes with big roof areas. A large catchment collects a lot of dirt as well as water, so the first flush device matters: it diverts bacteria, tannic acid, sediment and chemical residues from the first runoff into a separate pipe chamber. Fit one on every downpipe where you can, or one near the tank serving several. The tank sits on a level, firm base, and the kit includes the tap and valve you need to draw off and to drain the diverter. Put a leaf catcher box at the top of the downpipe. Use 6 m D-shaped gutter lengths to cover long roof edges and a gutter outlet at the downpipe. More options are in the rainwater harvesting range. Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, with regular runs to Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Upington, Kimberley, Cape Town and Mbombela. This kit ships at about 101 kg, so delivery is on quotation, as for all items over 100 kg. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) ship free, and for smaller orders we will send you a fixed quote for your address. Tank warranty: 1 to 2 years, depending on the model.
