Overview

This 5000 L fish breeding pond is a blue, rotationally moulded round pond for serious small-scale aquaculture and commercial breeding. It is made from food-grade virgin LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene), measures 2300 mm across by 1500 mm deep and weighs 80 kg. The one-piece shell has no seams to leak, and the 40 mm red fitting handles outflow and drainage. It is for above-ground installation. Where it works

Fish farmers in Limpopo, the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal use ponds this size for growing out tilapia and catfish fingerlings, while hatcheries use them as holding and breeding tanks. They also suit agricultural colleges and aquaponics set-ups. Place the pond on a flat surface with no protrusions, plan the outflow before you fill it, and keep the area child-safe. Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Gqeberha, East London, Polokwane and Tzaneen. Delivery is charged by total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) qualify for free delivery. This pond ships at about 85 kg, so it falls in the 60 to 100 kg band. Tank warranty: 1 to 2 years, depending on the model.
