Overview

This 3 kW chemical sludge pump is a submersible built in 316L stainless steel for sludge and process liquids that would eat through a cast iron pump. It delivers 35 m³/h at a 12 m head through a 65 mm outlet, and weighs 42 kg.

The open single-channel impeller passes solids, and a separate cutter mechanism at the inlet breaks up stringy material before it enters the pump. A double mechanical seal in silicon carbide against carbon graphite and ceramic guards the motor, and every elastomer, including the cable shroud, is Viton. The motor runs on 380 V to 415 V three phase. Chemical resistance depends on the exact liquid, concentration and temperature, so send us the chemical and we will tell you whether 316L and Viton are the right match before you order.

Where it works

It belongs in plating and galvanising plants, tannery and food-processing effluent pits, mine process sumps on the Highveld and Limpopo platinum belt, and anywhere a corrosive sludge has to be lifted out of a pit.
