Description

Overview

A 3/4″ NPT hose breakaway with cover protects a dispenser from a driveaway: the hose parts at this coupling, both valves close, and the dispenser stays standing.

It is the smaller sibling of the 1″ NPT hose breakaway with cover and suits 3/4″ dispenser hoses on farm tanks, workshop pumps and retail-size forecourt units. The valve in each half closes as the coupling parts, with a flow range of 5-50 L/min.

The separation force is a maximum of 250 lb pull. It is a single-use device, so replace it after it has separated. Our 3/4″ reusable hose breakaway is the option when you want a unit you can reset.

Where it works

Forecourts in Gauteng and KZN, farm fuel depots in the Free State and Limpopo, mine service bays on the Mpumalanga coal fields and transport depots along the N1 all use dispensers that get hit by reversing trucks and bakkies. A breakaway at the hose end means the hose separates cleanly instead of tearing the dispenser off its base. Browse more fuel hose and fittings for the rest of the dispenser line. Fitting and spares questions are common, so call us with your hose size and pump details and we will confirm the match before you order.

Questions about this product

Is this the same as the 1" breakaway?

The design is the same, but this one is 3/4" NPT with a 5-50 L/min range and a 250 lb separation force. The 1" version runs 5-80 L/min and separates at 300 lb. Match the size to your dispenser hose.

Will it work on a diesel farm tank?

Yes, if the hose and nozzle on that tank are 3/4" and the flow is within 5-50 L/min. Most bakkie-size farm pumps fall inside this range. Check your hose size before ordering. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your current fitting and we will check.

Do I have to replace it after a driveaway?

Yes. This model is single-use. Once it has parted, fit a new one. A reconnectable alternative is our 3/4" re-usable breakaway. Our team can confirm the details on the phone before you pay. We would rather answer a question now than have you reorder later.

Do you deliver to Rustenburg?

Yes, we deliver to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days. At 0.5 kg shipping weight this is in the up-to-30 kg band, R550 on its own, and free on orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.). We would rather answer a question now than have you reorder later.
