Description
Overview
This 100 litre pressure vessel is the big buffer for a booster pump system. It stores pressurised water in an EPDM bladder so the pump does not have to run every time water is drawn, and it keeps pressure steady for taps, showers and irrigation. It comes in vertical and horizontal versions, rated to 8 bar, with a carbon steel tank. You will find the smaller sizes too in our pump spares and accessories.
With 100 litres of storage the pump rests for longer between cycles, which lowers electricity use and wear. The vessel also absorbs pressure surges and reduces water hammer on the pipework.

The vertical version needs the least floor space. The horizontal one lies on its side and suits low pump sheds.
Where it works
A 100 litre vessel is the right size for a farm homestead with several outlets, a guest lodge, a school ablution block or a small irrigation set. In Limpopo and the Free State, installers use it to cut the starts on borehole boosters. Fit it with a flexible hose and a five-way fitting, such as the 25 mm anti-vibration flexible hose, and see the smaller 36 L and 50 L pressure vessels for lighter demand.

Is a 100 litre pressure vessel too big for a house?
Not usually. A large vessel gives the pump longer rests and steadier pressure, which suits homes with several bathrooms or a garden line. For a small house with one bathroom, a 36 L or 50 L vessel is enough and cheaper to buy.
Should I buy the vertical or the horizontal version?
Choose vertical if you have the headroom and want the smallest footprint. Choose horizontal for low pump sheds or where a long, low vessel fits better. The construction, capacity and 8 bar rating are the same. The horizontal costs R 30 more.
