Overview

This is a water absorbing diesel filter for high-flow transfer lines, rated at up to 150 L/min with 1″ connections. The cartridge holds a medium that swells when it meets free water, trapping it along with dirt down to 30 micron, so only clean, dry diesel goes into your machines. When the cartridge has soaked up its limit, flow drops sharply, which tells you it is time to replace it.

It is the larger brother of the 70 L/min water captor filter, made for pumps that move more than 70 L/min. For flanged 4″ depot lines, the 4″ fuel filter assembly is the right size.

Where it works

Water in diesel is a real problem in humid KZN and Lowveld summers, and in old farm tanks that collect condensation. Fit this water absorbing diesel filter on the discharge of a high-flow bowser or depot pump and it guards the injectors on tractors, harvesters, trucks and generators. Questions about this product

How do I know when to change the cartridge?

Watch the flow. Once the cartridge has absorbed as much water as it can, the medium swells shut and flow drops hard, and the pressure drop climbs toward 1.7 bar. That is the sign to replace it. On a dirty tank it can happen quickly, so keep a spare on hand.

Can I use it on a 70 L/min pump?

Yes. A filter rated higher than your pump simply runs with less restriction and lasts longer between changes. The reverse is the problem: a small filter on a big pump chokes the flow. So this 150 L/min unit is a sensible upgrade for a 40 or 70 L/min pump too.

Will it filter petrol?

No, it is meant for diesel, biodiesel and paraffin. Petrol needs filters and seals rated for its lower flash point and different chemistry. Tell us what you are pumping, the flow rate and the hose size, and we will suggest a suitable option from our range.

How much is delivery to the Karoo?
