Description

Overview

This 0.55 kW three-phase vortex sewage pump passes solids up to 35 mm and runs on a 380 V supply, for pits, plants and farm sumps where a standard dewatering pump would block.

The vortex impeller sits back from the flow, so the liquid being pumped does not come into contact with it and solids up to 35 mm pass through without clogging. At 0.55 kW it delivers 18 m3/h (300 L/min) at 3.1 m with a maximum head of 7.3 m, and the casing, impeller, cover and shaft are stainless steel (AISI304 and AISI316). A double mechanical seal with an intermediate oil chamber protects the motor, and the motor is rewindable.

Where it works

Put it in an industrial effluent pit in Gauteng, a pump station at a small treatment plant, or a farm sump in the North West where three-phase power is already run. What solids can the 0.55 kW vortex sewage pump pass?

It passes solids up to 35 mm without clogging, because the vortex impeller keeps the pumped liquid away from the impeller itself. It is rated for pH 4 to 10 and liquid up to 40 °C. Do not use it for rags, stones or fibrous waste in bulk, and screen the pit if you expect those.

Is the 0.55 kW vortex pump three-phase only?

This version is three-phase, for a 380 V to 415 V, 50 Hz supply, and it should be wired through a starter with overload protection by a qualified electrician. If you only have single-phase power, the 220 V version of the same pump is the one to order.
