Overview

This steel tank stand is built for 5000 L water tanks, the most common farm and homestead size. It is made from structural steel with a primed coating against rust and carries a 1850 x 1850 mm deck. Choose a height from 0.5 m to 9 m for your site.

A full 5000 L tank holds about 5 tonnes of water, so the stand is the part of the system that takes the load. Raising the tank adds gravity pressure and keeps the base clear of mud and standing water.

A 1.0 m height is also listed; ask us for its price. Taller stands give more gravity pressure, roughly 1 bar for every 10 m of height, so a 3 m stand gives about 0.3 bar. Every height has the same 1850 x 1850 mm deck.

Where it works

This is the stand most farmers in the Western Cape vineyards, Mpumalanga and the North West ask for: a 5000 L tank on 3 to 6 m of steel feeding irrigation lines, troughs and worker housing. Lodges and schools use the same set-up for steady pressure through outages.

Tie the tank to the deck eyelets right after it is placed. On the coast ask for galvanized, because primed steel will not last as long in salt air. Installation is not included. See our tank accessories.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Cape Town, George, Mbombela, Rustenburg, Johannesburg, Polokwane and Upington. Shipping weight is about 580 kg, which is over 100 kg, so delivery is on quotation. Delivery fees follow total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free.
