Can this pump handle petrol?

Yes. It has an explosion-proof motor and an anti-static build, and the supplier lists petrol, diesel, paraffin and solvents as suitable. You are still responsible for earthing the system and following your site's fuel-handling rules. Ask us if your site has specific requirements.

How long can it run before it needs a rest?

The duty cycle is 30 minutes on, then 30 minutes off. At 57 litres a minute that is about 1700 litres per run, enough for most refuelling jobs. Running longer without a break risks overheating the 200 W motor, so plan big transfers around the rest period.

Can I connect it to a bakkie battery?

Yes. It runs on 12V DC at 200 W, a light load for a vehicle battery. Use clean clamps and adequate cable, and keep the battery clear of any fuel vapour. Run the engine for longer jobs so the battery stays charged.
