Overview

The BT-600 centrifugal fuel pump is a transfer unit rated at 600 L/min. A 4 kW, 380V 3-phase motor turning at 2900 rpm drives a cast-iron pump with 3″ (80 mm) BSP female ports, a 17 m maximum head and a 4 m suction lift.

It is built for continuous (S1) duty with flooded suction, so mount it low on the tank. The motor is IP55 with class F insulation, drawing 8.1 A, and the supplier marks it Ex db IIB T4 Gb. Large farms in the Free State and North West move diesel from road tankers to storage tanks with it. Because it is a centrifugal pump, the line should flood. Fit a strainer upstream and a gate valve on the suction side to protect the impeller and make servicing easier.
