Where it works

Koi keepers in Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban sink this pond into a garden, and fish farmers in Limpopo use it for growing out stock. Site it in a sunny spot, or in dappled shade for part of the day. A very shady spot turns stagnant, and your plants need sunlight to oxygenate the water. After heavy rain, remove leaves, twigs and other debris to cut down algae, and use a net in leaf season so you clean less often. If you install it above ground, the shell needs extra reinforcement to keep its shape. Keep the area child-safe to prevent drowning. See also the 5000 L koi pond and the JHQ-2500 water feature pump.
