Overview

This is a 10 000 L water tank combo with a 1.5 kW HMS1500 steel pump, the strongest pump in our no-frills HMS package. It stores a large volume and delivers up to 133.3 L/min to the house, a workshop or an irrigation line.

The pump is inverter friendly, runs at a low noise level, starts and stops on demand and waits before restarting. It is pre-wired with a 3-pin plug and protects itself against overcurrent, dry running and overload. There is no UV light or filter in this package; for that, choose the 10 000 L combo with 1.5 kW HMS pump, UV and filters. Everything else is on our tank and pump combo kits page.

Options

This combo comes in three tank colours: green, grey and tan. Everything else in the package is identical, and the price is the same for each colour: R 24,156 (VAT incl.) for green, R 24,156 for grey and R 24,156 for tan. The pump and fittings are identical in every colour, so choose whatever blends in best.

Where it works

The 1.5 kW pump and 10 000 L volume suit a large family home in Pretoria or Polokwane, a guest farm in the Waterberg, or a small packhouse that washes produce. What is the difference between this and the HMS 0.75 kW combo?

Pump size. The 1.5 kW pump moves up to 133.3 L/min against 83.3 L/min for the 0.75 kW, so it copes with more taps or a longer pipe run. The tank, hose kit and float valve are the same. Choose the 1.5 kW if your demand is above a small family's.

Will this combo keep running if the tank runs dry?

The pump has dry-run and overload protection, so it shuts down rather than burning out. Keep the float valve working and the tank topped up. Always check the suction side for air leaks after fitting, because a leaking union starves the pump and causes the same problem.
