Overview

The 600 L underground water tank is the smallest buried tank we list, just 900 mm high with a 1140 mm diameter and a 30 kg body that one or two people can handle into a shallow hole. It is made from thick LLDPE that withstands soil pressure, keeps roots and animals out, and does not biodegrade. It stores drinking water or grey water. Where it works

Use it under a townhouse patio, beside a cottage, or at a clinic or spaza site that needs a small hidden reserve. It also suits grey water capture for garden irrigation in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. For more volume, compare the 1000 L underground tank and the 1750 L underground tank.

Have a qualified builder or plumber install it. Test the ground for groundwater or clay soils, fit a breather to prevent collapse when pumped out, and keep vehicle traffic and heavy loads off the area above. It is not a septic tank.
