Which pump does this capacitor fit?
It is the 25 µF, 450 V capacitor for the 1.5 HP submersible turbine pump motor. The 2 HP motor uses a different value, 40 µF, so do not swap them. If you are unsure, send us the rating plate details of your pump and we will confirm the right part before you order.
How do I know if my pump capacitor has failed?
A single-phase pump that hums but does not start, or starts slowly and trips, often has a weak capacitor. Isolate the power, discharge the capacitor and test it with a meter that reads capacitance. A reading well outside 25 µF plus or minus 5 percent means replace it. If in doubt, have an electrician check the motor windings too.
