Overview

This plastic pump cover keeps rain, sun and dust off a small pump and gives the pump a tidy, weather-proof home beside your water tank. It is made for 0.37 to 1.1 kW pumps and measures 670 mm long, 370 mm wide and 500 mm high. The plastic is strong enough to take 100 kg, so you can stand on it to check the tank level. You adapt the cover on installation to let the suction hose and cables pass through. That gives you a custom fit for your pump position without special parts.

Where it works

Pump covers earn their keep in the sun and rain of the Highveld and the Lowveld, where a bare pump beside a tank suffers from UV, dust and the odd runaway hose. Farmers, lodge owners and homeowners fit them next to a water tank on a stand or on the ground. Set the cover over the pump and pressure switch, then cut openings for the hoses and cable. Complete the set-up with a pressure vessel and a 50 mm layflat hose for the discharge run.
