Overview

This is a medium-duty reinforced PVC hose that works on both the suction and delivery side of a water pump. It is built for pulling water from dams, rivers and reservoirs and for dewatering, and it is sold by the metre so you order exactly the length you need.

The reinforcement stops the hose collapsing under suction. The manufacturer states a 4.8 bar working pressure. It is flexible, light and kink resistant, so one person can handle it in the field.

Where it works

Use it for dam and river water transfer, irrigation, construction sites, filling storage tanks and emergency water transfer. On Free State and Limpopo farms it connects a petrol or diesel pump to a dam, and on Mpumalanga mines and Gauteng building sites it handles dewatering. Match the hose diameter to the pump inlet, and use a good clamp at each end. If your fitting is threaded, see the running nipple and spring loaded brass check valve in pipe fittings.

Hose weighs about 1 kg per metre for the 75 mm size, so more than 30 m moves into the next delivery band (30 to 60 kg is R950). Delivery is free on orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.).
