Double Foam Pump Pontoon, 340 kg Capacity

Description

Overview

This double foam 6mm pump pontoon is a foam-filled float that carries a submersible pump, up to 340 kg in total, on a dam, river or reservoir. The pump hangs just below the surface, so it draws cleaner water than it would from the bottom, and the whole rig rises and falls with the water level.

It is designed to sit 70% submerged at its rated load, which leaves a 30% safety factor. Pontoons are quoted per order, so send us your pump model and we will price the right one for you.

Key features

• Foam-filled floating body in double foam 6mm construction
• Handles up to 340 kg of pump and fittings
• Designed for 70% submergence with a 30% safety factor
• Keeps the pump intake near the surface, away from bottom silt
• Follows the water level up and down without re-positioning
• Sits between our single foam pontoon and the triple foam sizes

Where it works

Use it wherever you pump from open water. Farmers in Limpopo and Mpumalanga float pumps on irrigation dams to feed pivots and drip lines. Contractors use them on river abstraction points, and mines and municipalities use them on process water and raw water reservoirs.

Add up the weight of the pump, its cable and any fittings before you choose, and keep the total under 340 kg. If you are close to the limit, step up to the triple foam 8mm pontoon. More choices are in our submersible pumps range.
