Overview

The 8VP 98-09 moves more water than the 80-11 at the same 37 kW. It is an 8 inch stainless steel multistage submersible borehole pump from the 8VP98 range, rated at a nominal 98 m3/h with flows up to 120 m3/h and a shut-off head of 193 m. At 80.1 m3/h (1335 L/min) it delivers 128 m, so it suits large irrigation schemes, municipal supply and mine dewatering from high-yield boreholes where flow matters more than lift.

The curve reads 185 m at 20 m3/h, 166 m at 40.5 m3/h, 146 m at 60.6 m3/h, 128 m at 80.1 m3/h, 104 m at 100.2 m3/h and 63 m at 120 m3/h.

• Pump end only, R 27,688: the wet end alone, to replace a worn pump end on an existing 37 kW 6 inch motor.

Where it works

High flow at moderate head is what Limpopo and Western Cape irrigation schemes, large stock operations and industrial water supply want, and this pump delivers it. Work out your total head from pumping water level, lift and about 10% friction, then read the curve at your flow. The borehole must be able to deliver that flow, so ask your driller for the yield-test result before you buy. Motors above 30 kW need a soft starter, star-delta panel or VSD from your electrician. Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Cape Town, George, Gqeberha, Upington, Tzaneen and Mahikeng.
