Overview

This 800 L rainwater harvesting kit is the smallest in the range, with a tank, a gutter buddy and a first flush kit in one order. It suits small roofs, townhouses, tuck shops and gardens where a large tank will not fit. It catches roof water for watering plants, washing and top-up use, and the first flush kit keeps the dirtiest runoff out. Installation is not included.

Where it works

Use an 800 L tank beside a garage, a small house, a cottage or a classroom block. In towns across Gauteng and the Western Cape, where water restrictions are a recurring headache, even a small tank on one downpipe gives you a useful reserve for the garden. The first flush device installs on the downpipe feeding the tank: the chamber fills with the first dirty runoff, a ball seals it, and cleaner water carries on into the tank. Drain it through the valve after rain. Gutter mesh and leaf catchers help with leaves but cannot stop dust and bacteria, which is the reason to add a first flush diverter. Fit it to a 3 m D-shaped gutter with fascia brackets. If you outgrow it, the rainwater harvesting range has larger tanks.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, with regular runs to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, George, Gqeberha and Pietermaritzburg. Delivery is charged by total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) ship free. This kit ships at about 28 kg, so it falls in the R550 band. Tank warranty: 1 to 2 years, depending on the model.
