Description

Overview

The 5000 L horizontal water transport tank is a wide, low polyethylene tank for carting water on a truck or trailer, or for storing it where a tall vertical tank will not fit. At 1480 mm high it keeps the weight low, and Kamano delivers it anywhere in South Africa.

It is rotationally moulded from virgin LLDPE, UV resistant and BPA free, with a black inner liner that prevents algae and sturdy ribs for strength. The tank is 2500 mm long, 2200 mm wide and 1480 mm high, and weighs 175 kg empty. It is supplied alone, with no pump or hoses, so you can connect your own transfer pump or gravity feed to the 40/50 mm outlet connector.

Where it works

Mines in Limpopo and Mpumalanga mount 5000 L tanks on trucks for dust suppression. Contractors in Gauteng cart water for compaction, and farms in the Free State and the Eastern Cape supply remote camps and spray rigs. Five tonnes of water is a serious load, so strap the tank to the chassis, add baffle balls, and check the vehicle rating. Use it above ground only.

No, this is the tank alone. For a version with a 50 mm petrol pump, layflat hose and suction hose, see our 5000 L transport tank combo. You can also fit your own pump to the 40/50 mm outlet.

How many baffle balls does a 5000 L tank need?

The quantity guide is 108 balls for a 5000 L tank. They slow the water down inside the tank when you brake and corner, but you must still strap the tank to the chassis.
