Overview

This 45 degree waste bend changes the direction of 110 mm waste pipe by a gradual 45 degrees in underground drainage, soil and vent systems. It is a Polydrain fitting, model code WasteBend110-45, made from strong plastic in a beige colour.

The shallow angle lets wastewater flow freely through the bend, and the smooth inner surface limits the build-up of dirt and debris. That lowers the risk of blockages compared with a sharper turn. Plastic is also far lighter than clay or cast iron, so one person can carry and fit it on site.

Where it works

Typical jobs are sewer connections, soil and vent systems, residential developments, commercial buildings and drainage repairs or upgrades. On a farm in Limpopo it joins the run from a house to a septic tank; on a Gauteng housing site it eases a pipe round a footing.
