Overview

The 525 V version of our 18.5 kW variable speed drive is the one you want when the pump set runs on a 525 V three-phase supply. It is rated 18.5 kW (25 HP) at 32 A, and it works by altering the frequency fed to the motor so the pump delivers the duty required at that moment. The lower current compared with a 380 V drive of the same power is simply the higher voltage at work.

Variable speed drives are used on 525 V pump sets and on constant-pressure systems, where they soft start the motor and adjust pump speed to demand. That saves power, reduces wear and avoids the hammer of a direct-on-line start. If your motor is on 380 V instead, use the 18.5 kW 380 V variable speed drive.
