Overview

This 4 inch flow meter is a positive-displacement bulk fuel meter that measures diesel at 170 to 1700 L/min to ±0.25%, complete with air eliminator, strainer and a mechanical register. It is the size used on main depot lines, rail and road tanker bays and large mine fuel farms.

At these flow rates a small percentage error turns into thousands of litres a month, which is why the air eliminator and strainer matter: one keeps air out of the count, the other keeps debris out of the rotors. The register gives a resettable batch reading and an 8-digit total that cannot be wound back. For lines below 1150 L/min, the 3″ bulk meter costs less.
