Overview

This bulk diesel flow meter is a 2 inch positive-displacement meter with an air eliminator, a strainer and a mechanical counter, built to measure fuel at 50 to 550 L/min with an accuracy of ±0.25%. It goes in the delivery line of a bulk tank, tanker or pump skid and tells you exactly how many litres went out.

The air eliminator vents air and vapour before they reach the measuring chamber, so you are not billed or blamed for air. The strainer catches scale and grit that would wear the rotors. The register shows a resettable 5-wheel batch count plus an 8-digit total that cannot be reset, which gives you an audit trail. For bigger flows, see the 3″ bulk meter at 115-1150 L/min.

Why do I need an air eliminator on a bulk meter?

When a tank runs low or a suction line sucks air, bubbles pass through the meter and get counted as diesel. The air eliminator vents that air before it reaches the measuring chamber, so the count reflects real fuel. On bulk deliveries, that difference adds up to real money quickly.

Can I use this meter to sell fuel?

The supplier states it is NRCS approved for custody transfer, which is the approval needed for trade use. Ask us for the certificate before you order so you can check it against your application. Verification and sealing on site are your responsibility.

Is delivery free on this meter?

Yes. It costs more than R20,000 including VAT, so delivery is free anywhere in South Africa. The meter ships at about 28 kg on our own truck from Polokwane and normally arrives in 1 to 3 days. Our driver will hand it over with the paperwork.

Will a 2 inch meter handle my 40 L/min pump?

No, the minimum flow is 50 L/min, so a 40 L/min transfer pump would run below the accurate range. This meter suits bulk pumps and gravity lines delivering 50 to 550 L/min. For small 12 V pumps, choose a 1 inch mechanical or digital meter instead.
