Overview

This red 180 mm threaded lid has a built-in breather, which lets a water tank vent as it fills and empties. Without a vent the tank pulls a vacuum when you draw off water and pushes air back out as it fills. The breather evens this out while the lid keeps out contaminants.

It is moulded in premium virgin polyethylene with UV resistance, so it holds its colour and strength in South African sun. It is a replacement lid for compatible rotationally moulded water tanks.

Where it works

Fit it on domestic tanks, rainwater harvesting systems, farm water tanks and commercial water storage where a standard 180 mm lid is called for. A working breather matters on tanks that feed a pump, because a blocked vent can starve the pump and even squeeze the tank walls.
