Description

Overview

This diesel pump box is a 12V transfer pump housed in a protective carry and mounting box, supplied with a 4 m delivery hose, a nozzle and a suction hose with an inlet filter. It moves diesel out of a drum, IBC or tank at about 40 L/min, so a 200 L drum is empty in roughly five minutes.

The box keeps the pump, cable and hoses together in one place instead of loose in the load bin. Lift it off the bakkie at the drum, connect the clamps to the battery, drop the suction line in and start filling. When you are done, everything packs back inside.

Where it works

Farmers use this diesel pump box to refuel tractors in the land from a drum on the back of the bakkie, which saves a trip to the yard during Free State planting or Limpopo harvest. Questions about this product

Can I run this pump box off my bakkie battery?

Yes. The pump runs on 12V DC and draws about 13 A, so it clips straight onto a bakkie, tractor or deep-cycle battery. Keep the engine idling during longer transfers so the battery stays charged. Stick to runs of about 15 minutes, then give the motor a rest before carrying on.

Will it pump petrol?

No. This pump is built for diesel and paraffin only. Petrol vapour can ignite inside a standard brush motor and the seals are not rated for it, so never use it on petrol, avgas or solvents. For petrol you need a pump that is specifically certified for flammable fuels.

How much is delivery to a farm in the Karoo?
