Overview

The SP46-11 (also listed as VP48A-11) is an 11-stage stainless steel multistage submersible pump for 6 inch boreholes, built around an 18.5 kW motor. It lifts water up to 147 m and moves up to 66 m³/h, and it gives 36 m³/h (36 000 litres per hour) at 110 m head. The SP46 range is rated at about 46 m³/h nominal flow and suits deeper boreholes where the water level sits well below surface.

What size borehole does the SP46-11 need?

The SP46-11 is a 6 inch pump and needs a borehole with an internal diameter of at least 150 mm. Check your casing size with your driller before you order. Also get the yield-test result, because the pump must not outrun what the borehole can deliver or it will run dry.

Oil-filled or water-filled motor, which should I pick?

Both drive the pump the same way. Oil-filled motors are sealed units rated 25 bar. Water-filled motors are rated 35 bar and can usually be rewound if they burn out, which normally makes repairs cheaper on bigger motors. For a 18.5 kW motor, ask us if you are unsure which suits your site.

What else do I need to install it?

You need submersible cable, rope, delivery pipe and a base plate, as none are included. Your electrician must wire in the supply and protection. Send us your borehole depth, water level and tank height and we will help match the SP46-11 to the job.
