Overview

The polypropylene reducing bush connects different sizes of Class 3 and Class 6 low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pipe in irrigation and water reticulation. It is a threaded fitting with a nylon insert, so the joint grips mechanically and resists leaking. It is cheap, light and quick to fit, which is why irrigation fitters keep a box of assorted sizes on the truck.

The polypropylene body resists corrosion and UV, and the smooth transition between pipe sizes helps keep flow consistent. Use it for extending, modifying or repairing agricultural, municipal and domestic installations.

Where it works

It belongs on irrigation lines such as drip and sprinkler blocks on Western Cape vineyards and Limpopo citrus farms, and on stock-water and homestead reticulation.
