Overview

The galvanized steel borehole base plate, also called a well cap, sits on top of the borehole casing, carries the weight of the delivery pipe and seals the borehole against dirt and debris. This one is made for a 32 mm delivery pipe. It is a small part, but a borehole without one lets in dust, insects, rainwater and runoff that can foul the water and damage the pump.

Galvanized steel is tough enough for the wellhead and protected against rust in wet ground. Confirm your casing size with us before you order, because the plate must sit square on the casing to seal it. Browse the rest of our borehole pumps and fittings.

Where it works

Use it on new boreholes and when you refit an old one: farm boreholes in the Free State and Limpopo, mine and community water points in Mpumalanga and North West, and lodge and residential boreholes in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. Fit it before you hang the pump, then add a borehole pump lock and fit the pipe. A new pump can follow from our 1.5 kW borehole pump kit.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane in 1 to 3 days to Kimberley, George, Mahikeng, Klerksdorp, Durban and Polokwane. The plate ships at about 3 kg, in the R550 delivery band, and delivery is free on orders of R20,000 or more. Add it to your pump order to save a separate delivery.
