Overview

The 10SP135/5 is a 10-inch stainless steel multistage submersible borehole pump (55 kW class). It lifts water up to 157 m at shut-off and still delivers 127 m of head at 1,500 L/min (90 m³/h). Peak flow is 180 m³/h, so it belongs on high-yield boreholes.

It is part of the 10SP135 range, a family with a nominal flow of around 135 m³/h, and it runs on three-phase power at 380 V or 525 V. See Options for the set and pump-end choices.

To size it, add your pumping water level, the lift to your tank and about 10% for pipe friction, then check the pump’s head at your flow beats that total. Get the yield-test result first, or the pump may run the borehole dry.

Key features

• Needs a borehole with an internal diameter of at least 250 mm.
• Motors above 30 kW need a soft starter, star-delta panel or VSD sized by your electrician. None is included.

Options

• 380 V set, R 79,160: 10SP135/5 pump end with a 55 kW 380 V three-phase water-filled 8-inch motor, no starter panel.
• 525 V set, R 86,920: 10SP135/5 pump end with a 55 kW 525 V three-phase water-filled 8-inch motor, no starter panel or VSD.
• Pump end only, R 17,128: the 10SP135/5 wet end alone, to replace a worn pump end on an existing 55 kW 8-inch motor.

Oil-filled motors are sealed and rated 25 bar. Water-filled motors are rated 35 bar and can usually be rewound, which makes repairs cheaper on bigger sizes.

Where it works

Large irrigation schemes on Limpopo and Free State farms, where one high-yield borehole feeds centre pivots or a canal. With 157 m of shut-off head it covers the mid-depth boreholes that make up most large farm and municipal supplies.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Johannesburg, Durban, Mbombela, East London, eMalahleni and Richards Bay. At 288 kg it is over 100 kg, so delivery is on quotation, and orders from R20,000 ship free. Large pumps are often supplied to order, so confirm stock and lead time first.
