Where it works

Smallholders in Limpopo and Mpumalanga use shells like this for tilapia or catfish trials, while homeowners in Gauteng and the Western Cape plant them out as koi ponds. Lodges use them as plunge pools. If you want fish in it, plan for filtration and aeration: a 750 W submersible water pump handles transfers and emptying, and the rectangular 6000 L splash pool is the alternative shape.

Keep the area child safe to prevent drowning.
