Overview

The 400 mm manhole extension is a large underground chamber with a child-safe lid, used ahead of a septic tank. All the underground 110 mm pipes from the building lead into the chamber, and a single pipe then runs on to the septic tank. It gives you one clean junction point to inspect and clear blockages without digging up pipework. The unit is 1060 mm in diameter and 790 mm high, supplied complete with its lid.

It is moulded from high grade linear low-density polyethylene, made to withstand underground pressure and thick enough to keep roots and rodents out. Use it ahead of a septic tank such as the 600 L combo where you have several drain lines to combine. See more in the septic range.

Where it works

A junction chamber suits buildings with multiple drain lines, such as lodges in Limpopo with several chalets, farm compounds in the Free State, schools and clinics in Mpumalanga and larger homes in Gauteng. Have a qualified builder or plumber do the installation, check the ground for groundwater and clay beforehand and keep vehicles off the chamber.
